Microsoft announced today the availability of Silverlight 2, the latest version of its programmable web browser plug-in. Features new to Silverlight 2 include .Net framework support and expanded .Net framework language support, deep zoom, improved server scalability, network support designed to more easily allow integration with existing back-end systems, and cross-platform and cross-browser support. Silverlight 2 will be available for download at Microsoft's website beginning Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008 at http://www.microsoft.com/silverlight.
